Every Dog Deserves a Spaw Day.

I am Kynlee Dixon and I am the owner of Hound Town Grooming Spaw. I am originally from Weatherford, Texas. You are about to read my story and how my business was created. Thank you for being a part of my journey!

I have an extensive background in animal care, as I was actively involved in my local FFA & 4-H club throughout my youth, holding leadership roles as the FFA Chapter President, District FFA Sentinel, & Parker County 4-H Ambassador. I also raised show sheep & swine. My favorite part about raising show livestock was actually what people dread most - spending countless hours in wash bays or trimming on lamb stands, fitting (grooming) my livestock for shows.

While in high school, I became part of an organization where students learned the basic fundamentals of dog bathing techniques and nail trims for WISD staff members dogs. The money raised went to benefit our FFA chapter. Simultaneously, I pursued my CVA (veterinary assistant certification) interning at numerous veterinary clinics in the Parker County area.

In 2022, I graduated high school and moved to Stephenville, Texas, to attend Tarleton State University. I adopted my best buddy, Cinch (my blue heeler), from Operation Kindness.

The Birth of Hound Town Grooming Spaw:
As I was looking for a job, I knew I wanted to work with dogs. I found a kennel technician / dog bather position at a local dog daycare. It was a great entry position, but I wanted to learn to groom professionally and advance my skillset.

I contacted a local groomer to explain my interest. For the next eight months, I trained under her to learn the basics of professional pet grooming. Ultimately, her business closed, presenting me with the opportunity to open my own salon.

In 2023, at 18 years old, I signed a lease on my first Hound Town Grooming Spaw location, in Dublin, Texas, while also being a full time student at both Tarleton State University and Weatherford College. Let me tell you, it took a lot of courage, dedication, and a big ol’ dream. I then focused on improvement of my craft, getting involved in pet care professional memberships and taking part in continuing education opportunities. I am blessed to say my business in Dublin was extremely successful.

Shortly after I opened Hound Town Grooming Spaw in Dublin, I obtained my associates degree from Weatherford College.

In May of 2024, I married my high school sweetheart, Hayden, and we got Cinch a sidekick- Maisie, (aka May-May) from the Fredericksburg Animal Shelter. Hayden graduated from Tarleton State University and works for Solo Select Horses, which is what brought us to the area. We relocated and I opened my second Hound Town Grooming Spaw location in Collinsville, Texas in January of 2025. I graduated from Tarleton State University in May 2025 with my Bachelors Degree in General Studies. (Go Texans!)

High Standards:
I have built my business on a foundation of believing that grooming should be a pleasant experience for both dog and groomer. Working with thousands of dogs over the last three years of my career, I have strived to create a comforting and nurturing environment, to teach them that grooming can be, and SHOULD be an enjoyable experience. I make sure they know they are loved and in good hands while in my shop. It is my honor to be your best friend's groomer!
To ensure high standards and an exceptional level of professionalism, I am a proud member of the Texas Professional Pet Groomers Association, am Pet Care Professional Certified, Pet CPR & First Aid Certified, and fully-insured.
