A dog's first groom should be done after their shots are completed, usually around 8 weeks of age. This allows us to teach them the grooming process, expose them to the noises and environment, and work with them on building a foundation to create a positive lifelong experience. It can be a lot for a young pup, which is why it is important to start early!
Usually for the first groom, we just do a bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, with a face, feet, and sanitary (bathroom areas) cut. This gives the puppies just enough introduction without making their visit too stressful.
